Wow! I can’t believe what a great time we had in Philly! We arrived Friday night and after the prerequisite getting lost in the city time, we arrived at our hotel. The Embassy Suites in Central Philadelphia is beautiful! Our room(s) were huge! We had a balcony, a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and a little kitchen area. Hubby came up with the idea to have sex on the balcony overlooking the Four Seasons. Weeee! What fun!
The King Tut exhibit was not great. Didn’t even have the famous sarcophagus. I think they should have called it the Ancient Egypt exhibit.
From there we checked out an old boat and submarine. Hubby enjoyed that.
Then we went to South Street. The place to people watch. Think Bourbon street but without so many bars. We spent a few hours there and then drove home.
Upon arriving home we were invited to the neighbors shindig and stayed up till about 4 a.m.
Sunday I was toast. My niece Donna left me a voice mail about going out to our old neighborhood to go swimming. Unfortunately, every time I think about going out there I hyperventilate and start crying. I told her I couldn’t go out there and she told me I was trying to forget and that my life was going to be miserable if I kept this up. I’m not trying to forget, I’m trying to wait until the panic attacks stop before I hop in the car and drive out there. I think that’s acceptable… and so does hubby. That little exchange totally fucked up the rest of my day, so I took a nap, woke up for dinner and then went back to bed after watching Epic Movie. Now that’s a pretty damn good spoof.
I am so glad that hubby and I took a weekend away. It really brought me back to why I love him so much. He’s such a sweet man.Ok, I have to get back to work, my yearly review is due. Ick…
