You Said It Dear!

These guys drive me to drink!

One of the ladies that works in our office said that as she slammed the door. She was on her way out to run yet another ridiculous errand for one of the people she assists. And I can totally relate.

I haven’t always drank to the point of vomiting. I’m still learning how not to do that. How can I still be learning at 31 years of age? Because I didn’t drink to excess until I started working here- in this office- for these people 5 years ago. Oh sure, I drank a beer every now and again but I didn’t start hitting the hard liquor, wine or mixed drinks until my lateral “promotion” to the corporate office from the store. It’s not a coincidence either. You’ve seen the trend with my Margarita Fridays if you’ve read my entries for long enough.

I came up with yet another hair brained plan this morning on my way into work. I need to get out of this place. It’s really hard when they pay better than average, I have 4 weeks of vacation accrued and all the great benefits I have. My liver will thank me for it in the end I think.

My latest scheme is to work here and the club as much as I can, pay off my debt and return to part time status back at the store level. From there I’ll pursue my Bachelors degree with some kind of business/ marketing theme. And from there find a job I like or advance Motorsports Models to a real money maker. All the while I’ll work at the club to supplement the income I’ve lost. It sounds like such a great idea the more I think about it.

Hubby says he totally understands and will support me in whatever way I need. He’s feeling the same way I am about his job… funny.. he’s had his job as long as I have AND works in the same place! He wants to get out, but he’s not sure what to do either. I think I’ve got more opportunity to get out than he does because I’ve already got an Associates Degree under my belt and I’ve got a great way to make money. Which makes me think that I can at least help him money wise once I get out to pursue his career of choice.

I’ve got to sit down and go through some numbers and come up with a plan…. Eh.. anyone good at coming up with plans?
